Serve
We need more than money, and usually something specific.
Grant research and writing · translation · design and web · accounting and legal · distribution teams in Colombia · teaching and mentoring. Tell us what you can actually do and we will tell you honestly whether we need it.
What we actually need
- Remote
Grant research and writing
Finding funders we are eligible for, and writing applications that stand up to scrutiny.
- Remote
Translation
Spanish and English, both directions, for reports, applications and programme material.
- Remote
Design and web
Keeping this site current, and making the material we send to donors clear.
- Remote
Accounting and legal
US nonprofit compliance, Colombian entity questions, and the parts of both that we are not expert in.
- In Colombia
Distribution teams
Loading, travelling, and handing out relief packages. Physical, unglamorous, essential.
- In Colombia
Teaching and mentoring
In the Transformation Centers and in the leadership cohorts.
What serving actually looks like
If you are hoping for a week that feels transformative, this may disappoint you. If you are willing to peel potatoes, carry boxes and do the same thing again on Thursday, you will be genuinely useful and we would be glad to have you.
Anyone who will work with children, young people or survivors of trafficking is screened before they begin. There are no exceptions, including for short trips.
Tell us what you can do
We read everything that comes in and we will tell you honestly whether we need what you are offering. A short, specific message is more useful than a long enthusiastic one.
If money is the more useful thing you have
$5 feeds one person in El Calvario. $2,250 runs the kitchen for a full week — all three serving days, 450 meals.
